The Verdict!

The vote is in...we liked 'em, we liked 'em!  They had a slightly tangy almost citrusy flavor to them.  I cut them up, sprinkled them with a little salt, tossed them in flour and bayou blast, then a quick soak in a buttermilk/egg bath, and finally a coating of panko and cornmeal.  Then off to a hot pan of corn oil.  Next time, I might add a bit of parmesan after the pan-fry and shake a little hot-sauce over them.

Yum! Yum! Yum! Don't you just LOVE Fried Green Tomatoes? All summer long, I look forward to picking off all the green tomatoes so I can enjoy them this way!

They were great! Definitely will be making them again soon (haven't gotten around to cleaning out the rest of the garden!) :)
